Defeatist Attitude!
"Don't be Defeatist Dear, Its VERY Middle Class!" I don't think I could have said it better.
For the some of us who have ambition and started out on our own its a struggle. The journey is hard and no one tells us how hard its going to be, because everyones journey is different. I got into this without any illusions or misconceptions but there were somethings that still took me aback. As I realised that Ambition alone isn't enough, conviction and consistency; is equally if not more; important.
For example, the low period! The horror of having been so busy in the past few months and then realising that your business on books is empty. The panic button triggers an alert and all hell breaks loose in your head. After a little effort most of us give up and say "Maybe it wasn't meant to be!" Not realising that this was the first of many.
We hear of success stories all the time. Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or be it our parents.... They all have the same storyline like its out of a Warner Brother movie. "They started with nothing and at the end they have everything you can think of!" But do we once sit to consider the journey in-between. The heart ache and sheer despair. No one reads the journey in-between.
Stop! Take a breath! And take a moment to look at the time frame their individual success took. Yes it is faster for some, but the journey would have been equally daunting I am sure.
We all have started out with a goal in mind; to make money and live a better life. If you are a Defeatist and accept the hand that life deals to you then you will remain in the strata of society you were born in or worse. The willingness to accept the harsh realities of life, your personal short comings and flourish from the same shows character. We are all born with defects and short comings. The ones that welcome criticism and do something about it are our leaders and role models of tomorrow because no one was born perfect.
Easier said than done; some would say; but the reality is so blunt. If progress is what you seek, then progress is what you shall reap, provided you are willing to pick yourself up after each stumble.
Like I always say: "Life is like an uphill climb....... But the View..... Is great!
Smile, Breath and Go Slowly!
