I Scratch Your Back..... You Scratch Mine!!!!!
The age old norm of business is "I'll do you a favour and then you do me one when I need it" But today its a dog eat dog world.... Bare minimum favours, trust and everyone wants the bigger piece of the cake.
Now people forget that we live in a human world where we wouldn't be able to have our businesses, jobs, economies etc without having a HUMAN on the other side. The argument is that what if he tries to screw me over....!!!! Again people tend to forget that in the good old days people walked over, screwed or betrayed people even then. The reason why you hear of this more often now is because there has been an increased in the number of people, businesses and technology enables gossip amongst other things.
You can go back as far as the age of the barter system; even before money came into the picture; I am sure someone didn't get paid their due. It is human nature to do so. But it is also human nature to lean on one another. We are an inter dependent species. The one who said he can survive without any human contact or support was a hypocrite or didn't know exactly what he was talking about. If we were meant to live in isolation we wouldn't have society, religion, trade, economies etc.
The chances that you would be betrayed by the ones closest to you are very high. Cause its the ones we are closest to that we take for granted. Family, friends or your better halves have been known for betrayal of the worst kind but on the other hand when others do the same or even worse doesn't bother us as much or it is more acceptable. Our entire society is filled with stories like these dating back to the crusades and further across all stratas of our society. Thus, proving that this isn't an alien concept to us. Then why is trust becoming alien to us.
The more we as a race "Progress" in technology, science etc..... The more we "Regress" as a humans. Now I am not saying that we should let bygones be bygones.... But there is also a very fine line between being cautious and paranoid. One has to realise that not everyone on this planet is out to get you.
Trust.... till they give you a reason not to.... Because it is better to grow with each disappointment rather than to grow at all ... Because a relationship without trust is like a car without an engine.... You can sit in it all you want.... But its not going to go anywhere.....
